Rasmin Magomedov's house blown up, residents of Djuli village report

The house of Rasmin Magomedov, suspected of setting on fire a school building in the village of Djuli, collapsed after law enforcers had defused a bomb inside it. This was reported by local residents.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that an improvised explosive device (IED) was found during a search in the Rasmin Magomedov's house. Combat engineers destroyed the IED with the help of a surface charge.

"The house was badly damaged, and it is unlikely to be restored. As far as I know, those people who lived in the house were accommodated by Rasmin's relatives. Rasmin himself left for the forest long time ago, I guess, several years ago, and he was put on the wanted list long time ago," said a villager.

According to him, the unidentified persons who set fire to the school "robbed not once, but several shops."

Kazikhan Kurbanov, a public activist and a member of the Anticorruption Tabasaran Council, has reported that "the burned-down school was used for holding classes."

"There is no other school in Djuli. A new school building is under construction nearby, and according to the documents, it was to be put in operation yet in 2012. It is not clear when the new building will be ready, and it is not clear what children should do till the end of the school year," Kazikhan Kurbanov said.
