Nadezhda Savchenko agrees to suspend her hunger strike

Today, during the conversation with her mother, sister, and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Nadezhda Savchenko has agreed to stop her hunger strike.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 22, the court in the Rostov Region sentenced Ukrainian aviator Nadezhda Savchenko to 22 years of imprisonment on the charge of involvement in the killing of two Russian journalists in the Donbas and illegal border crossing. On April 6, Nadezhda Savchenko started an indefinite dry hunger strike.

Nadezhda Savchenko is included in the list of persons recognized by the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" as political prisoners.

The official page of Petro Poroshenko on Twitter reports on the phone conversation with Nadezhda Savchenko, which resulted on the suspension of her hunger strike.

The information was confirmed by Ilya Novikov, an advocate of Nadezhda Savchenko.
