Dagestani MIA treats as a fake complaint about drunken police intrusion in mosque

The policeman, who, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, insulted believers during detention at the Makhachkala mosque located in Hungarian Fighters Street, is identified, reports the administration of the mosque. Officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) deny the information about the incident at the mosque.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 10, according to the administration of the mosque, a group of policemen in a state of alcoholic intoxication entered the mosque. According to the believers, the policemen insulted visitors of the mosque, threatened them, and demanded from them to proceed to the police station. On April 12, the administration of the mosque filed a complaint to the law enforcement bodies and demanded to bring the policemen to responsibility for the drunken intrusion.

"We know the name of the policeman who was in a state of severe alcoholic intoxication and who used bad language. We will still not disclose his name, since we want to pass the information to the MIA's Internal Security Department," said a member of the community.

Till present, no information about the appeal from the mosque is available to the press service of the Dagestani MIA; however, MIA's officials have questioned the allegation about the policemen on duty in a state of alcoholic intoxication.

"To say it is a fake means to say nothing. Policemen were not in a state of alcoholic intoxication, and even if they were engaged in an inspection, they did not enter the mosque, but performed their duties outside," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Dagestani MIA's press service. The MIA's officials offered "to more carefully check the information obtained."
