Russian citizen suspected of involvement in murder of Abdulvakhid Edilgeriev

A Russian citizen who has entered Turkey with the passport issued on the name of Alexander Nasyrov is suspected of involvement in the murder of Abdulvakhid Edilgeriev, the administrator of the website "Kavkaz-Centre".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 13, it became known that in Turkey, two Russian citizens - 52-year-old Yuri Anisimov and 55-year-old Alexander Smirnov - were detained on suspicion of espionage and murder of Abdulvakhid Edilgeriev, the administrator of the website "Kavkaz-Centre". According to the preliminary information, one of the Russian citizens detained in Istanbul is Valid Lurakhmaev, a "Chechen criminal leader, wanted by Russia and France," who used the passport issued on the name of Alexander Smirnov.

Abdulvakhid Edilgeriev, a relative of Movladi Udugov, one of the ideologists of Chechen separatism, was shot and killed not far from his house in Turkey on November 1, 2015. According to eyewitnesses, there were two attackers. They made several shots on Abdulvakhid Edilgeriev and fled.

Alexander Nasyrov rented one of the cars, which were used by killers. He left the country immediately after the murder of Abdulvakhid Edilgeriev. Investigators believe he was involved in the Abdulvakhid Edilgeriev's murder, the "Hurriyet Daily News" reports with reference to the law enforcement bodies of Turkey.
