Nagorno-Karabakh starts repairing houses damaged by shelling

In Nagorno-Karabakh, villagers started to repair houses damaged as a result of the escalation of the Karabakh conflict. The main repair works are to be carried out in the district centre of Martakert and communities of Talysh and Matagis. The material damage from shelling is still under calculation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of April 2, the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone was sharply escalated. On April 5, the parties to the conflict declared a truce. However, they accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.

The established commission determines the amount of repair works in the villages, apart from Martakert, which were affected by shelling, notes Unan Tadevosyan, the chief of the press service of the Ministry of Urban Development of Nagorno-Karabakh.

In general, according to Andranik Khachatryan, Minister of Economy of Nagorno-Karabakh, the infrastructure of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) operates without failures.

As a result of shelling, one third of the housing in the village of Talysh was damaged, reports Vilen Petrosyan, the leader of the community. He has noted that all the inhabitants were evacuated from the village.

Meanwhile, on April 6, Seiran Oganyan, Armenian Minister of Defence, reported that the government provided financial assistance to the families of soldiers, killed and wounded during the escalation of the conflict.
