"Panama archive": Suleiman Geremeev had owned offshore company for two years

In the period of 2004-2006, Senator Suleiman Geremeev owned an offshore company registered in the British Virgin Islands. This was announced in the report prepared by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). During those years, Suleiman Geremeev worked as an advisor and assistant to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, and later, his name was repeatedly mentioned in connection with the resonant scandals.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 3, the ICIJ released the investigation report, which included the information on transactions and offshore companies owned by 12 well-known politicians. The report is based on the documents of "Mossack Fonseca", a Panamanian law firm. Among other persons, the report also mentions Suleiman Geremeev, a member of the Federation Council of the Chechen Republic since 2010.

According to the documents, in 2004, Suleiman Geremeev became the owner of "Grant Pacific Corporation", an offshore company registered in the British Virgin Islands.

Suleiman Geremeev is a close relative of Ruslan Geremeev, a wanted officer of the Chechen battalion "Sever" (North), involved in the case of the murder of opposition politician Boris Nemtsov, committed on February 27, 2015. Investigators accused in absentia Ruslan Mukhudinov, a driver of Ruslan Geremeev, of organizing the murder of Boris Nemtsov.

Geremeev was also involved as a witness in the case of the murder of Ruslan Yamadaev, a former colleague of Ramzan Kadyrov, which was committed in Moscow on September 24, 2008.
