Complaint against CER refusal for Djemilev's son to be considered on April 28

On April 28, the Astrakhan Regional Court will consider a complaint against the refusal of conditional early relief (CER) for Khaiser Djemilev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 25, the Soviet District Court of Astrakhan dismissed the motion on CER for Khaiser Djemilev, which was filed by his advocate Nikolai Polozov. On March 9, the court's decision was challenged.

On June 10, 2015, the Krasnodar Regional Court sentenced Khaiser Djemilev to five years of imprisonment on the charge of involuntary manslaughter of family friend Fevzi Edemov, theft and possession of weapons. After the challenge of the verdict, the sentence to Khaiser Djemilev was reduced to 3.5 years of imprisonment. He was transported to Astrakhan.

According to advocates, the criminal case against Khaiser Djemilev was an attempt to put pressure on his father Mustafa Djemilev, the former head of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis. Mustafa Djemilev lives in Kiev, and he is an envoy of the Ukrainian President for affairs of the Crimean Tatar people.
