Zakharya Amirov elected Mayor of Buynaksk
Zakharya Amirov has been unanimously elected the head of the Buynaksk administration. This was reported by Marat Djankhaev, a deputy of the Buynaksk City Council. According to him, out of 21, 14 deputies voted for Zakharya Amirov.
Marat Djankhaev has reported that two deputies from the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party, who, according to Zayirbek Valiev, joined the deputies, who had abandoned their seats, refused to divest themselves of authority, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The deputies were electing the head out of three candidates proposed by the election committee, the "Chernovik" (Draft) reports.
Earlier, Zayirbek Valiev, a deputy from the "Edinaya Rossiya" Party, has announced that four deputies of the Buynaksk City Council from the "Edinaya Rossiya" Party and five deputies from the "Party of Veterans of Russia" gave up their seats in protest in connection with the election of the City Mayor.
Zakharya Amirov worked as the acting head of the Buynaksk administration since December 30, 2015. The election of the Mayor of Buynaksk was appointed after the resignation from the post of Gusein Gamzatov, a member of the "Edinaya Rossiya" Party. Supporters of Gusein Gamzatov demand to cancel the decision, claiming that it had been made with violations.
