UN reports on number of victims of conflict escalation in Nagorno-Karabakh
According to the UN report, at least 33 people were killed and more than 200 others were injured as a result of escalation of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, which occurred on April 2 and 3.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of April 2, the situation around the Karabakh conflict escalated sharply. There were armed clashes involving tanks, air force, and artillery. On April 2, Azerbaijan announced the deaths of its 12 soldiers, and Armenia reported that 18 soldiers were killed in the armed clashes. The parties to the conflict also reported civilian casualties.
According to the report of the Organization United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the number of wounded people, including civilians and soldiers, has not yet been officially confirmed.
The OCHA also notes that the hostilities have taken place near the villages of Agdere, Martuni, and Hadrut, where 14,400 people live.
Meanwhile, according to the UN, both countries have announced that they do not need international humanitarian assistance.
