Parties in Karabakh conflict report new shelling and clashes
During the last 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Armenia violated the ceasefire for 121 times, reports the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD), adding that Azerbaijan "retains control over all liberated territories." In is turn, the Armenian party said about today's the morning fights, in which three Azerbaijani tanks were destroyed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on April 2, the situation around the Karabakh conflict escalated sharply. There were fights with the use of tanks, heavy artillery and air forces. Both parties reported about civilian casualties.
On April 3, at 12:00 a.m. local time, the spokesman of the Azerbaijani MoD stated the decision to "suspend the counter-offensive in the territories occupied by Armenia." However, Stepanakert, the capital of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) refuted this Baku's statement.
The situation on the contact line of troops in the conflict zone "remains tense", said Vagif Dyargakhly, the head of the press service of the MoD of Azerbaijan. According to his story, the Armenian party continues shelling dwelling settlements located near the contact line.
Let us note here that on April 3, the Azerbaijani MoD reported about 130 acts of shelling from the Armenian party, and its 137 response shelling actions; and the days earlier – about 127 bombardments of its positions.
