NKR reports downed Azeri helicopter

Tonight, the air defence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has brought down a helicopter of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan; there are casualties, said the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the unrecognized republic. The Azerbaijani party denies it.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today the MoDs of the NKR and Azerbaijan announced an escalation of the border conflict. The NKR's MoD has blamed the opponent of shelling dwelling settlements.

The downing of an Azerbaijani military helicopter was reported by the press service of the MoD of the NKR. The MoD treats these actions as a response to the use of artillery, combat vehicles and aircrafts by the Azerbaijani party during shelling the NKR's military units and dwelling settlements.

The information about the downed helicopter is a lie, said, in its turn, the MoD of Azerbaijan.

Let us remind you that on November 12, 2014, a military helicopter was also downed in the conflict zone. The death of three crew members – natives of Armenia – was reported. According to the MoD of Azerbaijan, the helicopter was shot down during the attack on Azerbaijani positions.
