Kuban farmers achieve creation of working group to deal with their complaints

Today, the working group, which should inspect, within the coming month, all the districts of the Krasnodar Territory (also known as "Kuban" by the name of the main river), from where farmers' complaints has been received, has held its first sitting.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that about 100 farmers from the nine Kuban districts had stated their intention to hold a tractor march to Moscow to convey their appeal to Vladimir Putin, and to draw attention to massive raiders' seizures of land in the territory. On March 27, it was announced that after a meeting with an official of the All-Russian People's Front (ARPF), farmers gave up their intention.

"The working group will visit all the districts, from where farmers' complaints were received. It will hear all the parties in conflict to fully understand the situation and then suggest solutions to controversial issues," a source from the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the territory told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Also today, the Ministry has opened a hotline for farmers.

Farmers managed to attract the attention of territorial authorities; therefore, they have abandoned the idea of a tractor march, Alexei Volchenko, a member of the farmers, initiative group from the Kalinin District, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"We were told that they'd clear out each of our cases, render the legal support, and launch our dialogue with major agrarian complexes," said Volchenko.
