Case on child beating sent to Grozny court
A criminal case against a resident of the city of Grozny, the Chechen capital, accused of beating his son, has been sent to the court. The father is under threat of an arrest for up to three months.
"On March 22, the Staropromyslovskiy District Court of Grozny received a criminal case, opened against a local resident, accused of committing a crime under Part 1, Article 116 (an assault or other violent acts that caused physical pain) of the Criminal Code," a source from the republic's prosecutor's office told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on March 25.
According to his story, if the defendant is found guilty, he may face "a fine of 40,000 roubles, or correctional works for up to six months, or an arrest for three months."
According to the Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya, "being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, while playing with his four-year-old son, the above resident had beaten the child up for the refusal to pick up his cap from the floor." On February 11, the child's mother filed a complaint to the district prosecutor's office; and a criminal case was opened against the man, said the source.
