Nadezhda Savchenko found guilty
While reading out the verdict, the judge has pronounced that Nadezhda Savchenko is guilty under all paragraphs of the indictment and is to be isolated from the society.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, the Donetsk City Court of the Rostov Region pronounces the final part of the verdict in the case against Ukrainian aviator Nadezhda Savchenko. She is accused of involvement in the murder of two Russian journalists not far from Lugansk and illegal crossing of the border between Ukraine and Russia. Nadezhda Savchenko pleads not guilty; however, the Court has refused to treat her alibi as confirmed.
The judge has stated that the defendant's correction "without isolation from society is impossible."
When the judge was reading out the verdict, Nadezhda Savchenko began loudly singing the song "Gorila shyna, palala" (A tire was burning…), which was performed during the Euromaydan events in Ukraine.
Nadezhda Savchenko is among the persons recognized as political prisoners by the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial".
