After bomb report, concert in support of Bashir Pliev moved to a nearby club
A report about a bomb has not cancelled the charity concert "Raise a Bus", organized to raise funds for driver Bashir Pliev, who suffered in an attack on a group of human rights defenders and journalists which occurred on the border of Ingushetia and Chechnya. The concert was held at another place.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 20, the Moscow police evacuated all the participants and spectators of the charity concert "Raise a Bus", organized to raise funds for Bashir Pliev.
On March 15, the website of the "Open Russia" announced raising funds for the rehabilitation of Bashir Pliev and the purchase of a vehicle for him. Furthermore, the website Helpbashir.org has been launched especially for the action of charity. For the first three days of the action, activists raised more than 800,000 roubles as compared with the pre-planned amount of 1.5 million roubles.
According to organizer Darya Kasatkina, the report on a bomb had no effect on the action of charity.
"Since the police did not let us enter the 'DICh' bar, we moved to a nearby place. Nothing terrible happened, and we managed to organize a concert in a nearby pub in Kitay-gorod," Darya Kasatkina has said.
Earlier, Bashir Pliev has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the claimed amount (1.5 million roubles) is not enough to restore the vehicle, not to mention the expenses for medical treatment and rehabilitation.
After the concert, Bashir Pliev, who stays at the hospital, has said he is grateful to the organizers of the event and that he looks forward to the help of active citizens.
