Two residents of Northern Caucasus suspected of attempt to join IS
At the border with Georgia, Russian border guards have detained two residents of one of the republics of Northern Caucasus, who, according to the FSB, had planned to go to Syria to join the "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia.
According to the press service of the Frontier Guarding Service of the FSB for North Ossetia, two residents of "one of the republics of Northern Caucasus" were detained at their exit from Russia across the border with Georgia.
"The actions of the detained men contained typical attributes of preparation for the departure to the SyrianArabRepublic to join the troops of the ISIL. They were handed over to the FSB bodies at their residence, where they gave confessions about his intentions," the "Interfax-South" quotes today a source from the press service.
