Resident of North Ossetia suspected of fighting for IS
In 2015, the resident of North Ossetia went to Turkey; then, he crossed the Syrian border and took part in the warfare for the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), said the Border-Guarding Department for North Ossetia of the Russia's Federal Security Bureau (FSB).
According to the Department, a criminal case was initiated against the resident under the article of "organization of an illegal armed formation (IAF) or participation therein" (punishable by imprisonment for the term of five to ten years).
"During the check of the data on the participation of our fellow countryman in the above terrorist organization, we confirmed the information that in 2015 the young man went to Turkey; then, he crossed the Syrian border and took part in the fight against the governmental forces of the Syrian Arab Republic," the TASS quotes today the above Department of the FSB.
