Resident of Rostov-on-Don detained for threatening to blow up bank
In Rostov-on-Don, the police have detained a man suspected of trying to rob a bank office using a fake improvised explosive device (IED).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening of February 12, in Rostov-on-Don, the office of the "Binbank" was attacked in the area of 339th Infantry Division Square. According to the police, a man entered the office of the bank with a box in his hands. He threatened to blow up the office and demanded to give him money. However, one of the bank employees pressed the "alarm button", and the attacker fled. The police found a fake IED.
The 33-year-old man suspected of threatening to blow up the bank branch in Rostov-on-Don is detained, the RIA "Novosti" reports today with reference to the press service of the Chief Department for Rostov Region of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
"According to the suspect, he decided to rob a bank after he had read on the Internet a story how a man handed a cashier a note with threats, then received the money and fled," reports the website of the MIA's Chief Department for Rostov Region.
