Natives of Chechnya deported to Russia not let out of Domodedovo for three days

Since February 28, three children of a native of Chechnya, deported from Switzerland to Russia, cannot leave the transit area of Domodedovo Airport, rights defenders have stated today.

According to the Chechen rights defender Zainap Gashaeva, who lives in Switzerland, on January 8, 2016, the asylum in Switzerland was requested by the family of Nebila Borzaeva, a Russian citizen and a native of Chechnya.

Ms Gashaeva has added that Swiss authorities had twice refused to grant the asylum to the family. According to her story, on February 28, the Swiss police "forcibly deported Borzaeva's three elder children by separating them from their mother."

Svetlana Gannushkina, the head of the "Civil Assistance" Committee, reports that the above children cannot leave the transit area of Domodedovo Airport for three days already.

"Usually, the authorities issue the so-called 'Return Certificate' to deported citizens. But these children were sent to Russia without any documents. Now the authorities are waiting for information from Chechnya, confirming that they had been really registered there," said Svetlana Gannushkina.

The deported children of Nebila Borzaeva told in a telephone conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they "are kept in a confined room, where there are no normal conditions for living."
