Staff members of Gyumri military base testify about Valery Permyakov's detention
After his detention, Valery Permyakov stated that he did not kill the Avetisyan family members. At the today's hearing, the court questioned Sergey Merzlikin, the commander of the border guard unit of the 102nd Russian military base, who took part in the search for the defendant.
According to Sergey Merzlikin, he personally asked Valery Permyakov if he had killed the Avetisyan family members, and the guy replied that he 'had not killed anyone'." When asked where he had been hiding for so long, Valery Permyakov answered: "On the Armenian-Turkish border."
Prosecutor Gevorg Gevorgyan asked why after the detention Valery Permyakov had not been brought to the Armenian law enforcement agencies. Sergey Merzlikin answered that he did not receive the appropriate instructions.
The next court hearing is scheduled for March 4.
