Adaptation Commission in Nalchik promises to help Blenaova

Inna Blenaova, a resident of Nalchik, who is accused of helping a militant, has lodged its application to the Commission for Adaptation of Former Militants. The members of the Commission have considered the application, and decided to ask the court to appoint a punishment, not related to deprivation of her liberty.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 4, the Investigating Department for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) said that Blenaova's case had been sent to the court, as Inna, according to investigators, had rendered help to Robert Zankishiev, the leader of the local branch of the "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia, who was killed during a special operation on November 10, 2015.

On November 10, 2015, in Nalchik, power agents blocked a multi-storey apartment building No. 59 in Second Taman Division Street, where, according to their data, the above Robert Zankishiev, the leader of the local branch of the "Islamic State" (IS, earlier – the ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant), a terrorist organization, banned in Russia), and his Muslim wife were hiding. Zankishiev was shot dead during the storm, and Blenaova was wounded and hospitalized.

The sitting of the above Commission, which is helping former militants, who took decision to stop their terrorist and extremist activities, to adapt to civilian life, at which the Blenaova's application was considered, was held on February 17 in Nalchik.

When making their decision to ask the court for leniency in sentencing Inna Blenaova, the members of the Commission took into account her two young children and her sincere repentance.
