Woman wounded by explosion in Dagestan is in coma
The condition of the woman, who suffered from the explosion at the GIBDD (traffic police) checkpoint in the Derbent District of Dagestan, is stably grave, said Rumina Demirova, Chief Physician of the Central City Hospital (CCH) of Derbent. According to her story, the patient is in coma and connected to an artificial respiration unit.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the explosion at the GIBDD post near the village of Djemikent occurred in the morning on February 15. On February 16, the head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov said that the wounded woman had died in hospital. Earlier, Dagestani authorities confirmed the death of two policemen and 18 others wounded in the explosion; other sources reported four casualties, including the suicide bomber.
"The woman injured by the explosion near the village of Djemikent is alive, she is in coma of degree 2-3 and connected to the artificial lung ventilator," Rumina Demirova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Thus, the head physician of the CCH of Derbent has refuted Ramazan Abdulatipov, who said that the severely wounded woman died in the evening on February 16.
