Law enforcers launch CTO in Southern Dagestan

The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in three districts of Dagestan, where power agents are searching for members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), said the spokesman of the republic's operative headquarters.

"The CTO regime is in force within the administrative borders of the Khiv, Tabasaran and Suleiman-Stalsky Districts," the RIA "Novosti" quotes him as saying.

The source has added that power agents "are searching for militants and their helpers."

The today's introduction of the CTO regime in the three districts of Dagestan is already the third CTO for the last six months, undertaken simultaneously in all the three southern districts of Dagestan. The CTO was preceded by resonant incidents – an explosion of suicide bomber near the village of Djemikent, shelling of people in Derbent, and killing of hunters.
