Tenants of Volgograd destroyed apartment house demand meeting with Governor
Former tenants of the destroyed house in Volgograd seek to meet the Governor or his representative to learn about compensation for their lost housing before the public hearings on surveying the territory, said Larisa Borodaeva, the leader of tenants' activists.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the explosion in an apartment building No. 47 in Kosmonavtov Street occurred on December 20, 2015, resulting in five casualties and 12 injured people. Tenants asked the authorities to carry out the surveying of the land under the house.
According to the city Mayoralty, by December 31, 2015, applications for housing certificates to buy new apartments were submitted by more than half of the total of 108 families. On January 13, the authorities of the Volgograd Region informed about the readiness of documents for resettlement of 67 families.
According to Borodaeva, the victims of the explosion "are still completely unaware of how the issue of compensations for their lost property will be resolved"; and "people are in extreme anxiety."
However, on February 8, city officials failed to meet house activists, because "applications are only registered for three days", Borodaeva has stressed.
Let us remind you that on January 25 the Governor ordered to allocate money from the reserve fund to help the victims. On January 29, tenants began to receive money to their bank accounts.
