The spokesman of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported that on the highway Kizilyurt-Makhachkala a man, who opened fire on policemen, was killed during a shootout.

According to the spokesman, the incident occurred at about 5:00 p.m. Moscow time, "at the moment, when policemen tried to stop a car for inspection."

"The man, who was in the car, in response to the policemen's demand to present his documents opened fire on them and was shot dead by response fire," the RIA "Novosti" quotes its source from the MIA of Dagestan.
