Kadyrov takes aim at Kasyanov in Instagram video

On his Instagram page, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has published a video, in which Mikhail Kasyanov, the leader of the "PARNAS" Party, appears under a filter simulating a rifle sight. Commentators have treated the video as a threat to the opposition politician.

In the video, posted last night on the Ramzan Kadyrov's page on Instagram, Mikhail Kasyanov talks to journalist Vladimir Kara-Murza Jr, the coordinator of the "Otkrytaya Rossiya" (Open Russia).

"Kasyanov arrived in Strasbourg to receive the money for the Russian opposition. If someone didn’t understand, now he will understand!" a Ramzan Kadyrov's note states.

"It's a direct fatal threat against Kasyanov," wrote Ilya Yashin, Deputy Chairman of the "PARNAS" Party, on his page on Facebook, when commenting on the video published by Ramzan Kadyrov.

The number of comments under the video posted on Instagram also includes the posts criticizing Ramzan Kadyrov.

"This is a mess. One should know what to post and when to stop. If you want to fight against the opposition, you need to introduce reforms and improve the situation not only in a single republic, but in the whole country, and you should not post such a video," user tiakinnicholas wrote.
