Law enforcers close mosque in Khasavyurt

According to eyewitnesses, law enforcer have closed the mosque "Severnaya" (Northern) and welded its front door. The police check the documents permitting the construction of the mosque, reports a law enforcer from Khasavyurt.

Let us remind you that at 6:36 p.m. Moscow time, the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot" got a message describing the situation near the mosque in Khasavyurt and the attempts to close it.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a mosque-goer, who introduced himself as Rasul, that on February 1, the mosque-goers would gather in another Salafi mosque to discuss their further actions.

"Our Imam was arrested, and a grenade launcher was planted to him, although the imam was well-known for his uncompromising attitude to the IS (IS, the 'Islamic State', is recognized as a terrorist organization, and its activities are prohibited in Russia)," the mosque-goer told the "Caucasian Knot". And he continued: "Now, the authorities are gradually closing Salafi mosques, one after another."

One of the Khasavyurt law enforcers has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the police "check documents permitting the construction of the mosque". Meanwhile, he refused to make any further comments.
