Azerbaijani soldier perishes on border with Armenia

Azerbaijan accuses Armenia of provocation, resulting in the death of soldier Nakhid Fikret oglu Safarov.

"This is a provocation in the region, which has no relation to Nagorno-Karabakh, and it is aimed to involve a third party in the conflict. We are also concerned about the fact that the international organizations regularly react only when the Armenian party suffers losses," states the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan.

It is also noted that the incident occurred at 3:00 p.m. local time and that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces will take countermeasures, the "Interfax" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, the Azerbaijani MoD has accused Armenia of 116 fire attacks during the day of January 28. On January 27, Nagorno-Karabakh reports on 350 shots from the Azerbaijani side.
