Workers of "Nairit" resume their protest actions

Today, Yerevan has hosted a protest action. It was held by 50 workers of the "Nairit" Chemical Factory, who demanded to resume the activities of the rubber company.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in November 2015, the workers of the "Nairit" demanded from the authorities not to close their facility. They met Levon Shakhverdyan, Armenian Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, and discussed the problem. He then promised to answer the call to resume the activities of the plant.

At the protest action, former workers of the factory stated that in case the company resumes its work, its products "will be in demand not only in domestic but also in the international market." According to the protestors, the resumption of the plant's activities "will give a chance to several hundreds of dismissed workers to regain their jobs."

The workers of the "Nairit" will continue their protest actions until the company is restarted, reports Anush Arutyunyan, the former press secretary of the "Nairit" Chemical Factory.

According to her story, earlier, the workers of the plant were met by Levon Shakhverdyan, Armenian Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, who assured the protestors that the negotiations on the resumption of the company's activities are underway and involve three foreign companies.
