"Kommersant": PACE is ready to take control over investigation into Boris Nemtsov's murder

On January 25, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will discuss the possibility of the use of the tools of international law to find the persons responsible for the murder of Boris Nemtsov. Members of the Boris Nemtsov' family and his associates are invited to attend the hearing, the "Kommersant" reports.

Boris Nemtsov was killed on February 27, 2015, in central Moscow. According to official data, five natives of Chechnya and Ingushetia were detained as suspects, namely, Zaur Dadaev, Anzor Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev, Shagid Gubashev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov. All of them are under arrest. On December 29, 2015, they saw their final indictment. The figurants in the case are also the officers of the Chechen battalion "Sever" (North) Ruslan Mukhudinov, who was announced wanted and is considered to be the customer of the murder, and Ruslan Geremeev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 20, Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), reported that the murder of Boris Nemtsov was solved in 2015.

According to Emanuelis Zingeris, a member of the faction of the European People's Party in the PACE, an MP of the Lithuanian Seimas, who is one of the initiators of the hearings in the case on the Boris Nemtsov's murder, the hearings will be held in a separate PACE hall. Emanuelis Zingeris has reported that the subject of the hearings will be formulated as "Should the PACE take control over the investigation into the Boris Nemtsov's murder?" MPs from all factions are invited to attend the discussion, the "Kommersant" reports today.

"It is important for us to listen to the voice of the victim party - the family members of Boris Nemtsov and his associates - and to decide which of the tools of international law we will use if it becomes clear that the tools within Russia are not enough," Emanuelis Zingeris has said. He has also emphasized that, "of course, it was a political murder."
