Three Russian citizens detained in Turkey after terror act in Istanbul

In Antalya, Russian citizens have been detained during the antiterrorist special operation carried out after the terror act in Istanbul. The information has been confirmed by the Russian General Consulate in Antalya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 12, a suicide bomber a terror act in Istanbul. 11 people were killed, and other 15 people were injured.

According to the police, the detained Russian citizens are suspected of having relations with "Islamic State" (IS), recognized as a terrorist organization. In Antalya, during the searches of premises where the detainees lived, the police seized documents, the news agency "Dogan" reports.

"K. B., R. K., and A. S., citizens of Russia, were detained in their houses. They are suspected of providing logistical support to the terrorist organization", the news agency "Anadolu" reports.

Alexander Tolstopyatenko, General Consul of Russia, has noted that the Russian diplomats are engaged in investigating the reasons for the detention of three Russian citizens, the "RBC" reports.

The detainees lived in Turkey for at least three years. This was told by a member of the Russian Muslim community in Istanbul. According to him, they could not be involved in the terror act, since "they have not been noticed in expressing the sympathy to radical concepts of Islam."
