In Volgograd, tenants of collapsed building abandon plans to create public movement
In Volgograd, tenants of the multi-storey building destroyed by an explosion have abandoned the plans to create a public movement and a public organization to protect their rights. They have delegated the protection of their interests to the initiative group created earlier. The appropriate decision has been made at a meeting held on January 10 and attended by about 100 people.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that experts recognized the building as dilapidated and a subject to demolition. According to the Mayor's Office, by January 10, out of 108 apartments, tenants of 92 apartments filed applications for registration of housing certificates for the purchase of new apartments.
According to Nikolai Krivov, the chairman of the general meeting, earlier, on December 30, activists approved the draft statute of the public movement, proposed by the tenants.
"Today, there is no time to create a public organization, and the question of its creation is not the most relevant one," said one of the participants of the meeting.
The initiative group has discussed with the authorities the issue concerning the procedure for determining the value of property and compensation, advocate Denis Golovko reports.
According to him, he has prepared an appeal "with a request for a uniform way of compensation of damage for all citizens to ensure that everyone will receive equal compensation and that all tenants are included in the list for compensation." The advocate has noted that in the nearest future, the appeal will be sent to the Governor of the Volgograd Region and the Mayor of Volgograd.
