Activists of "New Armenia" hold action in support of Gevorg Safaryan and Suzi Gevorkyan

In Yerevan, participants of the action have demanded to investigate the case on the attack on activist Suzi Gevorkyan. Besides, they reported on unjustified arrest of activist Gevorg Safaryan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that activist Gevorg Safaryan was arrested after a conflict with the police in Freedom Square at the New Year's night. The activist was arrested by the court for two months. Suzi Gevorkyan was beaten in Yerevan on January 5. In the same evening, the activist filed a complaint to the police about the attack on her. She was diagnosed with brain concussion.

Today, the action in support of Gevorg Safaryan and Suzi Gevorkyan, members of the Front of National Salvation "New Armenia", has been held in front of the building of the Armenian Police, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The participants of the action were met by Valery Osipyan, Deputy Chief of the Yerevan Police, and Ashot Agaronyan, Chief of the Public Relations and Mass Media Department.

The law enforcers have assured that "the police are interested in solving the case on the attack on Suzi Gevorkyan."

"The activists will wait a while, and depending on the outcome of the investigation, they will make a decision concerning their next steps," said Gevorg Egiazaryan, a participant of the action, in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
