Rescue team searches for a group of skiers under an avalanche near Mount Elbrus

In Kabardino-Balkaria, an avalanche descended from Mount Cheget. According to the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) for Kabardino-Balkaria, three skiers came under the snow.

The incident has occurred today on the southern slope of Mount Cheget in the area of Mount Elbrus, and the relevant information was received by the MfE at 10:49 a.m.

Five members of the Elbrus high-mountain search and rescue team left to the place of the incident, the website of the Ministry for Emergencies for Kabardino-Balkaria reports.

According to the preliminary information, a group of skiers came under an avalanche. This was reported by Kantemir Davydov, the head of the press service of the North-Caucasian Regional Centre of the Russian MfE. According to him, in total, three persons suffered in the avalanche, the "Interfax" reports.

In the area where the avalanche has descended, the ski slopes are closed, but skiers are fond of riding there, says Abdullakh Guliev, the chief of the Elbrus high-mountain search and rescue team of the Russian MfE as quoted by the "TASS".
