Police release 12 residents of Nardaran

Today, the police have released 12 persons who were arrested after the unrest which occurred in the village of Nardaran not far from Baku. This was reported by Natiq Kerimov, the elder of Nardaran. According to him, in total, 57 administrative detainees have been already released.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 1, eight residents of Nardaran who had been sentenced to 30 days of administrative arrest were released.

On November 26, the unrest in Nardaran was provoked by a special operation, during which law enforcers detained 14 people, including Talekh Bagirzade, the leader of the "Muslim Unity" movement. As a result of the clashes between the local residents and the police, seven persons were killed. On December 3, it was reported about the arrest of 32 people in connection with the investigation into the case of the unrest, and later, arrests and searches continued. According to the local residents, during the period from December 1 till December 28, about 70 villagers were detained, and of them, about 10 people were later released.

Today, Natiq Kerimov has reported on the release of 12 other people who have already served their administrative sentences.

According to Natiq Kerimov, the number of the released persons also includes Atamali Nur, who calls himself the akhund of the Nardaran Juma-Mosque.

Natiq Kerimov has reported that recently, 57 people subjected to administrative arrests in connection with the events in Nardaran have been released.
