Tourists shelled in Derbent

According to various sources, the number of persons, injured during shooting in Derbent, ranges from 8 to 12 persons. There are reports that one of them died, and militaries are among the victims. According to the police of Dagestan, there were tourists among the victims.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that an armed attack on a group of people occurred today at about 00:30 a.m. Moscow time in the area of Naryn-Kala Fortress in Derbent.

According to latest data, 12 people were wounded; one of them died, said a journalist. According to his story, the incident occurred in a restaurant, next to the Naryn-Kala Fortress; the restaurant is located closer to the mountains and the forest.

In Derbent, a group of tourists was shelled, said the spokesman for the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan.

"An unidentified man opened fire on a group of people who were on tour in the fortress, and fled," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the spokesman as saying.

The "Chernovik" quotes its source from the republic's power structures, who said that servicemen suffered during the incident in Derbent. According to his story, during the shootout, one person died, and 11 others were wounded.
