Experts find no signs of Timur Kuashev's poisoning

The death of Timur Kuashev, a Kabardino-Balkarian journalist, was caused by acute coronary insufficiency. This was reported by Valery Ustov, Chief of the Investigating Department for Kabardino-Balkaria of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 1, 2014, the journalist was found dead on the outskirts of Nalchik. According to investigators, his body bore a sign of an injection.

In December 2014, investigators reported that they had interrogated over 80 people and gathered nine volumes of case files on the death of Kuashev. In January 2015, the website "change.org" posted a petition, stating that the investigators' questions to witnesses were formal. According to its authors, "the murder of Kuashev is deliberately brought to non-solving".

At the press conference held on December 24, Valery Ustov, Chief of the ICRF's Investigating Department for Kabardino-Balkaria, has reported about the progress of the investigation into the case of the Timur Kuashev's death.

According to Valery Ustov, the first forensic examination, carried out in Kabardino-Balkaria, had failed to reveal the cause of the journalist's death. After that, the investigators appointed the second forensic examination to be carried out in Moscow.

"According to the examinations carried out by chief Russian forensic doctors, the Timur Kuashev's death was caused by acute coronary insufficiency. The commission discovered no data indicating the death from poisoning," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Valery Ustov as reporting.

Valery Ustov has assured the journalists that the criminal case has not been suspended and that the investigation period has been extended until April 16, 2016.
