Savchenko request Putin about fates of Ukrainians in Russian prisons

Nadezhda Savchenko came to a court session in Donetsk wearing a T-shirt with an appeal to Vladimir Putin, asking for information about the fates of Ukrainians detained in Russia. Putin did not rule out an exchange of prisoners under the principle "all for all".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Nadezhda Savchenko's case has been considered in court since September 22. She is accused of involvement in the murder of two staff members of the Russian VGTRK (State TV and Radio Company) near Lugansk on June 17, 2014, and illegal crossing of the Russian state border. On December 16, the court rejected all the defence's motions.

Today, at the session at the Donetsk City Court, Prosecutor Yunoshev asked the court to extend Savchenko's arrest for three months – till April 16, 2016. He explained his request by the fact that Nadezhda "possesses firearms, has the skills of sabotage and subversive activities" and "does not have any housing in Russia."

The court has granted the prosecution's petition on extension of her custody. Nadezhda has announced her hunger strike since December 18 to the end of the trial.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin said, during his press conference in Moscow, that admits the possibility of exchanging citizens of Ukraine Nadezhda Savchenko and Oleg Sentsov for Russian citizens.
