Hunger-strikers in Makhachkala state deterioration of their health
Eight relatives of the residents of Khasavyurt, accused of raping a minor, continue their hunger strike in Makhachkala. They state deterioration of protesters' health.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Makhachkala, since December 9, the above relatives are holding a hunger strike. The action also supported by one of the defendants. The hunger-strikers claim fabrication of cases against their relatives.
Investigators believe that the raping took place on September 13, 2013 in the hotel-cafe. According to the advocate Sapiyat Magomedova, charges were presented to nine residents of Khasavyurt, one of whom is wanted, and only one of the nine is in custody.
By the evening of December 16, eight persons continued the hunger strike. The protesters' health is worsening with each passing day, said Nina Abdulgamidova, one of the protesters.
The next session on the case of Said Abdulgamidov at the Khasavyurt court is scheduled for December 18, Sapiyat Magomedova has explained.
Patimat Gadjieva, the mother of Murad Gadjiev and a participant of the protest action, states that at the court of Khasavyurt the defendants have no hope for acquittal.
