March in Yerevan is over without incidents

Today, in Freedom Square in Yerevan, 800 people gathered for a rally, organized by the Armenian National Congress (ANC) against the constitutional reforms. The rally turned into a march of 700 of them towards the building of the Central Election Commission (CEC), where they were met by a police cordon; however, later the protesters managed to go to the CEC building.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 6, Armenia held voting at the referendum on the constitutional reform project. Accoding to the Central Election Commision, the voter turnout reached 50.51%, while 63.35% of the votes gave their voices in favour of the constitutional reform.

The today's march to the CEC building ended without incidents, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Tomorrow, December 11, the opposition intends to provide to the CEC official request to invalidate the results of the referendum, ANC faction secretary Aram Manukyan told the "Caucasian Knot".

According to him, "there is little hope" that the Central Election Commission of Armenia recognizes the results of the referendum as invalid, but the opposition "uses all the resources to achieve the requirements put forward."
