Native of Dagestan declared killed during special operation in Kiev

A Russian, suspected of involvement in terrorism, has been killed in the course of a special operation in Kiev, reports the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU). The casualty was a native of Dagestan, the Ukrainian mass media report.

The special operation was conducted in Kiev by Ukrainian power agents in the evening on December 9. According to the SSU, they have suppressed the activities of a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance grouping.

In the course of the operation, one of the members of the grouping opened automatic fire and wounded two law enforcers. The attacker was killed by return fire. According to power agents, the casualty is a native of Dagestan; he was wanted on suspicion of terrorism. Besides, three citizens of Russia were detained, the UNIAN reports.

The official report on the results of the special operation, posted on the website of the SSU, does not specify the identity of the casualty.

One of the power agents, wounded during the operation, later died in hospital, Anton Geraschenko, an Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, wrote on the Facebook.
