Police did not interfere with Volgograd truckers' action in Moscow

Today, policemen have not prevented the action of Volgograd truckers in Kashira Highway. According to the strikers, this was due to their appeal to the Russia's Ombudsperson Ella Pamfilova.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a column of heavy-duty trucks left Volgograd for Moscow on November 29. Drivers reported the police's attempts to hamper the action.

Today, the Volgograd truckers, who parked their vehicles at one of the fuelling stations in the 92nd kilometre of the Kashira Highway near Moscow, held a rally in honour of Sergey Belov, a striker against the "Platon" system who died in a road accident near Tver on November 19.

According to Alexei Ulyanov, the coordinator of the protest action, policemen behaved calmly. According to his calculations, the action involved 30 trucks from Volgograd, in total, about 80 vehicles.

Now, truckers have permanent communication with one of the Ella Pamfilova's deputies, said Ulyanov.

"We aren't going to surrender; we'll gather a larger group more and plan to move in the direction of Moscow," he stressed.

So far, the truckers have no direct dialogue with the developers of the "Platon" system, said a striker named Roman. He also complained that strikers' relatives and friends learn about their actions only through phone calls, since no federal TV channels are covering the truckers' actions.
