Source from secret services doubts involvement of Chechen native, executed by IS, in Russian intelligence service

The video of militants showing the murder of a man introduced as a native of Grozny could be part of the PR-activities of the "Islamic State" (IS). This opinion was expressed by a source from the Russian secret services.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 2, a video of the organization "Islamic State", banned in Russia, was made public. The video showed the execution of a man introduced as a native of Grozny, who collaborated with the secret services.

"Most likely, the executed man had nothing in common with our special services," said a source from the Russian special services as quoted by the "Interfax".

According to the source, in case if the militants had actually disclosed a spy, they "would definitely have used him in negotiation processes" and that would have brought greater benefit to the terrorists rather than his murder.

Besides, the source has pointed out to the fact that the IS did not shown any evidence of their suspicions. Thus, the source does not rule out that the video was made in order to arrange a demonstrational violence only.
