The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the first phase of the construction of an energy bridge was to be completed on December 25, 2015, and the peninsula was to receive 300 megawatts of power in the winter. After a black-out in Crimea, Alexander Novak, Russian Energy Minister, has announced that the first stage of the energy bridge will be introduced before December 20, and in 2016, Kuban will deliver about 800 megawatts of power per day.

On December 2, in Simferopol, President Vladimir Putin took part in the launch of the first stage of the energy bridge between the Krasnodar Region and Crimea, the website of the Russian President reports.
