In case against Karpyuk and Klykh, mother of victim to seek compensation for moral harm
In the criminal case against Karpyuk and Klykh, the Supreme Court of Chechnya used video communication means to question parents of soldiers killed in Chechnya. Two victims were not questioned. The next court session is scheduled for December 3.
Public prosecutor has read out the minute of the questioning of victim Valentina Filipcheva. The woman described when her son was drafted into the army. She also described the circumstances of his death in January 1995 known for her.
Then, the Supreme Court of Chechnya established a video communication channel with Volgograd and questioned Natalia Aktaeva, the mother of Alexander Aktaev, a soldier who was killed in the hostilities in Chechnya at night of January 1, 1995. According to Natalia Aktaeva, her son was killed at the railway station during the storming of Grozny.
The woman has also said that she was going "to file a civil claim for compensation for material and moral harm" prior to the completion of the investigation.
The Supreme Court of Chechnya also organized a video conference with the Chelyabinsk Region to question victims. Safargali Nizamov said that on May 25, 1994, his son Djamil was drafted into the army. According to him, in late December, his son found himself in Chechnya. When asked by the public prosecutor, whether the victim had filed a civil claim for compensation for moral and material damage, Safargali Nizamov replied in the negative.
