Column of truckers from Dagestan stopped in Kalmykia
The truckers, who were heading from the village of Manas to the protest action in Moscow, were stopped at the post of the road-and-post service (known as DPS) in Kalmykia, since power agents refuse to let empty trucks into the territory of Kalmykia, said a participant of the action. So far, there is no confirmation of this information from the police.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Dagestan truckers are on strike since November 15 within the All-Russia protest action against the introduction of the "Platon" system, which assumed to charge tolls from heavy-duty trucks driving along federal highways. Today, a column of 200 trucks has left for Moscow with the aim to continue protests there.
However, the column was stopped at the DPS post at the entrance to Kalmykia, Surkhay Alimirzaev, one of the strikers, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent at 6:00 p.m. According to his story, they would not let the truckers to cross Kalmykia.
Alimirzaev has added that another group of truckers, about 50 vehicles, left for Moscow from Khasavyurt.
