In Kuban, seven staff members of juvenile correctional colony arrested

The Belorechensk District Court has arrested for two months seven staff members of a juvenile correctional colony in the case of severe beating of prisoners.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to investigators, on November 25, staff members of the Belorechensk juvenile correctional colony beat newcomers, including with the use of special means. Six teenagers were injured, and one died.

"At the request of the investigator, the court has pronounced the pre-trial restriction measure in the form of detention in custody against the acting chief of the juvenile correctional colony and his six subordinates," reports the press service of the Investigating Department for the Krasnodar Territory of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The investigator's request was supported by the Belorechensk District Prosecutor's Office, which explained the need for the arrest by "the severity of the crime committed and the possibility of pressure on the victims."

All the suspects have been taken into custody for the period of two months, the website of the Prosecutor's Office for the Krasnodar Territory reports.
