In Chechnya, pro-government activists hold rally against Turkey

In the evening of November 25, in Grozny, a group of activists of the youth patriotic club "Akhmat" held a rally to criticize the actions of the Turkish side, which shot down a Russian plane on the Turkish-Syrian border.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from September 30, the Russian air forces strike the Syrian positions of the "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia and recognized as a terrorist organization. On November 24, relations between Russia and Turkey got deteriorated after a Russian Su-24 bomber from the air group in Syria was attacked by a pair of Turkish F-16 fighters and shot down by an "air-to-air" missile. Turkey claims that the plane violated the airspace of the state, and the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) denies the information.

The rally in Grozny was held in front of the mosque "Heart of Chechnya", and it was attended by more than ten people, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The young people came to the square with the flags of Russia and Chechnya. Besides, in their hands, they were holding posters and banners with anti-Turkish slogans.

According to the participants of the rally, Turkey supports the militants of the "Islamic State" (IS). This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by one of the protesters.

Musa, another participant of the protest action, has stated that the destruction of the Russian plane by the Turkish Air Force is a "clearly unfriendly step" towards Russia. Meanwhile, the protestor has expressed the belief that the IS was "created by Western secret services."

"The international community should support Russia in the struggle against this evil and not support religious fanatics, terrorists, murderers of women and children, like Turkey has done," the young man has stated.
