When alive, head of Teletl village received death threats
Mukhtar Kurbanov, the head of the village of Teletl, who was killed on November 21, used to work at the law enforcement bodies, and he received threats from militants. This was reported by a resident of the village of Teletl. According to a source from the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan, the crime could be motivated by revenge in connection with the Mukhtar Kurbanov's service at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening of November 21, Mukhtar Kurbanov, the head of the village of Teletl in the Shamil District, was killed. He had been holding his position since June 2014. According to investigators, two persons were involved in the murder. They entered the territory of the Mukhtar Kurbanov's house and shot and killed him from an automatic firearm. The investigators believe that the murder involves members of an illegal armed formation (IAF), operating in the Shamil District of Dagestan.
Earlier, Mukhtar Kurbanov used to work at the criminal investigation department. This was reported by Magomed Omarov, a resident of Teletl.
"Last year, at the request of the villagers, he left his job at the law enforcement bodies and became head of the village. The villagers knew that 'forest people' threatened him when he was a policeman. Perhaps, his murder is connected with his earlier professional activities. We also believe that he could be killed for his strong opposition to Wahhabism. Khalid Kebedov, our previous leader, was killed for the same reason," Magomed Omarov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
