Truckers from Volgograd Region start forming columns to go to Moscow
About 400 truck drivers from the Volgograd Region are going to demand the cancellation of tolling trucks for the use of federal highways in Moscow. This was reported by Alexei Ulyanov, the coordinator of the protest action.
Truck drivers from a number of Russian regions, including the Volgograd Region, protest against the system introduced on November 15 for collection of tolls from trucks for the use of roads of federal significance. Carriers treat the tolls as too high and point to the lack of infrastructure for the control over the system "Platon", introduced for collection of tolls.
Today, at 10:00 a.m., in Volgograd, protestors will start forming columns on the Third longitudinal line. This was announced by Alexei Ulyanov, the leader of the "Public Independent Inspection".
"We need about two or three days to form columns. And the departure is preliminary scheduled for November 27. We expect that we will be joined by about 80 trucks from Elista. The distant regions, including Uryupinsk and Frolovo, will form columns on highways," Alexei Ulyanov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
In total, according to Alexei Ulyanov, about 400 trucks will go to Moscow.
